Define the project: what are you making and how will it be assembled?
Describe the environment: indoors or outdoors, temporary or permanent, dry or wet, protected or exposed?
Identify the important properties: feel, weight, flexibility, cleaning, tear control, water performance or another requirement.
Check the actual specification: composition, width, GSM, coating, colour availability and relevant test information.
Test before production: use an offcut or sample where appearance, stitching, joining or performance is important.
